How can I restore a difficult relationship?
Mahalo for asking this question. The first step is to remember that everyone understands and perceives things differently. Find out what and how your partner understands and perceives things. I have been very surprised by how many simple misunderstandings have gotten out of control. Words, phrases, actions, and non-actions often mean different things to different people at different times. Talk things over with your partner until you reach a mutual understanding.
The second step is very hard: create an environment around you that your partner cannot resist. This environment is also different for everyone and can be different from day to day, even hour to hour. Christians can create an environment around Jesus. Create an atmosphere that both of you enjoy so much that you will both do anything to remain there. Following these two steps, even if forced at first, will soon turn into a lasting, strong relationship.
