The message is, “Don’t let cuteness trick you.” Our minds are quick to believe everything and anything presented in a way that is comfortable to us. If what we hear makes us feel good, it must be true. NOT! The phrase “It’s too good to be true” has been around for a long time (Thomas Lupton used it in the title of his book in 1580). The idiom now called Murphy’s Law has evolved to mean that if something could go wrong, it will. We need to hope for the best and be prepared for the worst. It is usually somewhere in between.
And “Remember, if you don’t understand, ask!”
