The Old Testament is very clear that all God’s people are to give 10% of their first fruits into the “storehouse.” The first fruits refer to your income before deductions, not after, which are your second fruits. Storehouse is the place where you gather with a group of believers of your choice. This is the place where you worship and have fellowship. We often call this our church.
We know that Jesus came to fulfill the law of God, not change it. So, the New Testament mainly talks about giving over and above our tithes, which is called a free-will offering. There is nowhere in the Bible that tells us not to tithe, period. In fact, it says we are robbing God when we do not tithe. The Bible does encourage us to give freely, and the more we give, the more God gives to us in more significant amounts. You may have heard the phrase, “You can not outgive God!” I have been tithing for over 70 years and have never regretted it. I've seen miracle after miracle when I need money. There is only one place in the Bible that tells us it is okay to prove God. That place talks about paying out tithes. I can say with certainty that if you pay your tithes regularly, God will provide what you NEED.
“Remember, if you don’t understand, ask!”
