Mahalo (thanks in Hawaiian) for asking this question. Suicide is a sad but real problem. Murdering a person is wrong, no matter who they are. I said murder because killing justly can be forgiven, but the fine line between killing and murder is very thin, so it is best not to kill if at all possible. Falling into temptation is also wrong, no matter what the temptation is. When A person is tempted to commit suicide, they should immediately seek help. Contemplating suicide means you are in a state of no hope at all, which means you do not know how to find hope. Find someone to help you find hope again.
The Biblical word HOPE does not mean wishful thinking. Hope is a realized truth. Hope is when you know without a shadow of a doubt that something is true. When we have hope in Jesus, we know that we know that Jesus is real. When we have hope in Salvation, we know that we know that we are saved. If we have hope in heaven, we know without a shadow of a doubt that we are going to heaven.
When you look for hope, you will not find it in yourself. The Bible says it twice, once in Proverbs 14:12 and again in Proverbs 16:25. “There is a way that appears to be right (to a man), but in the end it leads to death.” You will not find it in the world. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” You will only find it in Jesus. Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
“Remember, if you don’t understand, ask!”
