I grew up in a household of brilliant people, and then there was me, the moron, and now the only one with a Ph.D. My journey from birth to senior adult was difficult because I had ADHD, which was not diagnosed until I was 74 years old. In the 1950s to the 1990s, ADHD was not recognized as a condition. I was thought to be mentally challenged and ignorant. The Holy Spirit taught me how to learn and exist in a world that was so much different than I was. Now, I want to help others who are struggling because they think and process information differently from the way their environment tells them they must do.
“Remember, if you do not understand, ASK!” This quote is now my motto. I wish someone had told me this when I was growing up.
